For International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples, we use the work and music of Sagkeeng First Nation member Vince Fontaine, his daughter Gabrielle Fontaine, and their Indigenous pop band Indian City, to spotlight the history of mistreatment of Indigenous peoples in Canada, as seen in songs like “Through the Flood” about missing and murdered Indigenous women.
